I'm Kevin Janes. I am a music producer and recording engineer born and raised in Louisville, KY.
I first started out producing music in 2016 when I downloaded Ableton. From there I started out making "old Kanye" type beats and strictly sampling.
I attended college at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN where I studied Audio Production and minored in music. Here is where I began learning the basics of recording. While continuing to learn Ableton and Pro Tools alongside each other, I began implementing my saxophone playing skills and musicality in a lot of my hiphop beats.
I worked three different internships at three different recording studios while I was in school. 400 Recording in Louisville, KY, Robot Lemon with Reid Shippen in Nashville, and Phantom Studios with Mike Elizondo also in Nashville.
From there I was hired as an assistant recording engineer at the Record Plant in Hollywood, CA. So I moved from one music hub to another.
While assisting there I worked with Saweetie, Travis Scott, Lotto, Megan Thee Stallion, BIA, Coi Leroy, Maverick City Music, Alesso, Moneybagg Yo, and many more.
Now I'm currently working as a freelance engineer in LA working mostly with Usher and LA Reid at Mega.
When I produce I try to think the unimaginable and unorthodox. That is how some of the most dope music is made; few limitations and extraordinary creativity.
I strive to create inspiration for others.
